Guess who is renovating another Hungarian railway
After winning another competition, the R-kord Építőipari Kft., under the supervision of Opus, decided to renovate another major Hungarian railway in the near future.
Forbes reported that the company is owned by one of the richest men in Hungary, Lőrinc Mészáros. The project includes the renovation of railway number three between Keleti Railway Station and Kőbánya–Felső. The complete tracks, electrical devices, cables, and mechanical parts of the track need to be replaced as soon as possible.
The project comes alive from a budget of approximately 10 billion HUF (30 million EUR).
The company also takes part in the building of the Budapest–Belgrade railway with Chinese investors.
Background
Mészáros was “only” a record-breaker in 2017, but he has become the richest man in 2018. His wealth is HUF 381.3 billion (EUR 1.15 billion). The former mayor of Felcsút overtook Sándor Csányi, the leader of the Hungarian bank called OTP.
The main source of him getting rich was the stocks, not only the blooming Mészáros shares but a transaction series announced in February.
As a part of this, most of his shares in his large production and architecture companies were transferred to Opus Global Holding. Mészáros received the purchase prices in Opus shares, which are considered to be a really valuable currency in the Hungarian state capitalism.
